One major challenge was designing a scalable, distributed data infrastructure for Netflix’s recommendation engine. We also built Netflix Drive, a cloud file system to support remote content creation during COVID-19. Using a hybrid storage model and smart data placement, we optimized for both performance and cost, enabling efficient global collaboration for artists.
